INCLUSIVE/COURSE ACCESS INFORMATION FOR INSTRUCTORS

WHAT IS THE INCLUSIVE/COURSE ACCESS PROGRAM?
The Inclusive/Course Access program allows students immediate access to their course materials through D2L, in digital format, on the first day of classes, at a significantly discounted rate. All students enrolled in courses where Inclusive/Course Access is offered will have digital access to the specified course materials on day one. To maintain digital access students must remain opted in. The Inclusive/Course Access program is a partnership between VitalSource, publishers and the SGA bookstore. Inclusive/Course Access is not offered for Optional materials, it is for Required products only.
HOW CAN I USE INCLUSIVE/COURSE ACCESS FOR MY CLASS MATERIALS?
You choose the materials you want to use. Place your course material adoptions using the VitalSource COLLECT Tool. We work with the publisher and VitalSource to get everything set up on our side. A few weeks before class, you’ll set up the link for the product on D2L. You may need to work with a publisher to do this.
HOW DO STUDENTS PAY FOR THE PRODUCT?
Students are charged through their student account at a significantly discounted price.
WHAT IF A STUDENT DOESN’T WANT TO CONTINUE WITH INCLUSIVE/COURSE ACCESS?
Students can opt out before the add/drop deadline, and they will receive a full refund. It is very important that students who opt out know they will be responsible for acquiring the materials needed for your class. The materials will not be available in the bookstore.
HOW WILL MY STUDENTS KNOW I’VE DECIDED TO USE INCLUSIVE/COURSE ACCESS?
Students will receive an email from us when they are billed. The message will let them know about Inclusive/Course Access, which class has participated, the charge that was added to their tuition and how to opt out if they choose to do so.
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?
Let us know which classes and products you want to be included in the Inclusive/Course Access program when placing your adoption by sliding the Inclusive/Course Access toggle in COLLECT. Please remember: Inclusive/Course Access is for required materials only. We will work with the publisher and VitalSource to get things set up on our side. We will email you before classes start with directions on how to set up the link for your course materials on D2L. If the product isn’t available through Inclusive/Course Access, we will reach out and let you know.
