Instructor-How to set up an IA link in D2L for VitalSource

INCLUSIVE ACCESS INFORMATION FOR INSTRUCTORS

Follow the steps below for eBook setup without a learning platform.

Go into the Content of your D2L course. Make a new module. Call it something like "e-Textbook.” In the new module, choose Add Existing Activities, then External Learning Tools In the window that appears, scroll down, and choose "VitalSource Textbooks." The link that is created will direct your students to their course materials.

If you are using courseware with your eBook, you must reach out to your publisher Rep to ensure your link is set up correctly, each semester. This ensures students have access on the first day of class and prevents confusion and frustration. Every publisher has different setup instructions based on the platform. If you don’t have a publisher contact and need one, please, reach out to Jill Spaulding. Most publishers require you to set up a meeting to do this, I would suggest reaching out to them by August 1st for Fall and January 2nd for Spring.

*LATE ADD STUDENT, if a student is added to your IA class after the add/drop period they’ll need to contact us to get access. jill.spaulding@sru.edu or kevin.taylor@sru.edu
